A Note From Ben

I believe counseling begins with a genuine relationship. From there, we’ll look together at how your experiences, relationships, and patterns from the past may still be shaping your life today. I draw from evidence-informed approaches including Relational Life Therapy (RLT), Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), using what is most helpful for you.

My primary focus is working with couples. Whether you’re dating, engaged, or married, I specifically use Relational Life Therapy (RLT) to help you recognize unhealthy cycles, understand where they come from, and take greater responsibility for how you show up in your relationship. RLT is active and practical—we’ll work on communicating more effectively, setting healthy boundaries, navigating conflict, expressing needs, receiving feedback, rebuilding trust, and restoring emotional intimacy. If your relationship has reached a breaking point or you’re considering separation or divorce, we can honestly confront what isn’t working and what it will take to rebuild.

My counseling is grounded in a biblical worldview that shapes how I understand people and relationships. When you desire it, I’m comfortable bringing these principles into our work together, including truth, grace, forgiveness, humility, responsibility, identity, and love.

Those same values shape my personal life. I strive to keep my relationship with God first each day, believing that the closer I grow to Him, the more intentionally I’m able to lead and serve my family. To me, that means being willing to lead by example—to approach my wife with kindness and honesty, extend grace and forgiveness, practice humility, be slow to anger, and take responsibility for my own behavior rather than waiting for her to change first. I’m incredibly grateful for a wife who also strives to bring those same qualities to our marriage and has grown alongside me. Over time, this has brought us back to the friendship our relationship was built on in the first place. After 13 years of marriage, we genuinely enjoy each other again—not just as husband and wife, but as friends, building a life together while we raise our young daughter.

Outside of counseling, I enjoy things that give me a chance to slow down and spend time with people I care about. I love playing golf, getting out on a boat, being involved in our church, and sharing life with family and friends. My wife and I are originally from Massachusetts, but South Florida is also home to us. We spent several years living in Palm Beach County, where our daughter was born, and we’re grateful for the flexibility to continue spending time in both places, personally and professionally.

Ultimately, I’ll show up as myself, and I want you to do the same. I want our sessions to feel less like a clinical appointment and more like a real conversation with someone who truly gets to know and understand you. If you’re looking for a therapist you can talk to as naturally as you would a trusted friend, while also challenging you to look deeper and make meaningful changes, I’d welcome the opportunity to connect.
